Jonathan receives long-awaited audit report on $20bln oil money ,but details remain under wraps

The report was launched after the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi alleged that oil funds had gone missing from the coffers of the NNPC.

President Goodluck Jonathan was on Monday, February 2, presented with the forensic audit report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The report was launched last year after the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi Lamido Sanusi alleged that oil funds had gone missing from the coffers of the NNPC.
Sanusi reported the unremitted oil funds before leaving office and initially stated a sum of $10.8 billion before increasing it to $20 billion.
The audit of NNPC was ordered by Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and was carried out by PriceWater House Cooper.
